Prison Mirror Hack

By Adam Clausen

If you’re fortunate enough to still have a tile shower stall, instead of a shiny, new steel box, you’ve likely found yourself struggling to hold up a mirror in one hand while you attempt to shave with the other. Well, here’s a quick and easy prison hack to help make life in the shower a little easier.

The next time you’re getting ready to head in to the shower grab a roll of toilet paper and wrap it around your hand ten times. It should produce a decent sized “wad” of TP. Now do it again so you have TWO WADS of TP to take with you to the shower. You can flatten both of them out, so you have a square about 1/4 inch thick. Now grab your shower bag, razor and mirror and make your way to the shower.

You can think of the TP like it’s paper mache…once you get it wet you can mold it into almost anything with a little patience and practice. Thankfully, this hack is quite simple. All you have to do is take the first wad and place it flat in the palm of your hand. Now wet it…soak it all the way thru…and then press it flat against the tile at whatever height you’d like to have your mirror. You may have to press it firmly against the wall to squeeze out the excess water.

Once the TP is firmly adhered to the wall, you’re going to want to create a “lip” along the bottom edge of the square. This is going to help support your mirror once you’ve pressed it firmly into the wet TP. Go ahead and do that now. Most small mirrors have a magnet centered on the back side and that’s also going to help create some additional support.

If you’re having difficulty getting your mirror to set flat, and stay firmly in place, you have your second wad of TP to use for molding and sculpting. Like I said before, you should think of the wet TP like paper mache. With a little practice you’ll be able to slap it up right up there without any difficulty at all. Good luck:)
